SAMS Conducts Specialized Hands-On Echocardiography Training as Part of Its January Medical Mission in Syria
As part of the January 2026 Medical Mission implemented by the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) in Syria, SAMS Institute organized a specialized hands-on training in pediatric and adult echocardiography at Al-Nabek Hospital in Rural Damascus. The training is part of the mission’s efforts to support practical medical education and strengthen healthcare capacity.
The training was delivered by Dr. Yusra Al-Safadi, a diagnostic radiology specialist based in the United States, with the first day focusing on the practical aspects of cardiac echocardiography techniques and their clinical applications in diagnosing heart diseases in both pediatric and adult patients. The sessions aimed to enhance diagnostic accuracy and support informed clinical decision-making.
The training targeted radiology specialists as well as physicians from various medical disciplines and provided an interactive learning environment for hands-on skill development and clinical experience exchange, addressing the growing need for advanced cardiac diagnostic expertise.
The program is scheduled to continue on January 26, 2026, as part of SAMS’ broader educational activities during the medical mission, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to advancing medical education and improving the quality of healthcare services in Syria.
