SAMS Conducts Scientific Lecture on Chronic Cough in Hama as Part of January 2026 Medical Mission

SAMS Institute organized a specialized scientific lecture at the Hama Doctors Syndicate entitled “Chronic Cough and Its Various Forms”, as part of the January 2026 Medical Mission implemented by the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) in Syria. This activity reflects SAMS’ ongoing commitment to supporting continuing medical education and strengthening the skills of healthcare professionals in the country.

The lecture was delivered by Dr. Mamoun Abdo, a pulmonary and critical care specialist in the United States, who reviewed the different patterns of chronic cough and their diagnostic approaches, emphasizing modern clinical assessment methods and linking symptoms to underlying causes, aimed at improving the quality of healthcare through evidence-based clinical practices.

Approximately 50 physicians and medical students attended the session, which featured active scientific discussions and practical knowledge exchange, providing participants with advanced insights and skills relevant to the diagnosis and management of chronic cough.

These activities are part of SAMS’ strategy to enhance continuing medical education and develop local medical capacity, with further lectures and educational programs planned across multiple Syrian governorates in the coming weeks.
