SAMS Organizes Lecture on Ultrasound in Emergency Cases in Deir Ezzor
As part of the January 2026 medical mission implemented in Syria by the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS), the SAMS Institute for Medical Education organized a specialized scientific lecture in Deir ez-Zor entitled “Ultrasound in Emergency Cases.”
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Mohammad Sami Weiss, Diagnostic Radiology Specialist and faculty member at the University of Sharjah – United Arab Emirates. The session highlighted the critical role of ultrasound and echography techniques in evaluating emergency cases and supporting rapid clinical decision-making, with emphasis on practical applications that enhance the quality of care in emergency departments.
The lecture targeted physicians in surgery, internal medicine, emergency medicine, and radiology, providing an interactive scientific platform for case discussions and professional exchange. The activity reflects SAMS’ commitment to strengthening practical skills and supporting continuous professional development for healthcare providers in Syria.
SAMS continues to organize additional educational activities across several Syrian governorates as part of the January medical mission.
