SAMS Institute Opens Medical Simulation Lab Center in Aleppo to Strengthen Healthcare Workforce Capacity

SAMS Institute has inaugurated a Medical Simulation Lab Center in Aleppo, reflecting the Syrian American Medical Society’s (SAMS) commitment to advancing medical education and enhancing the skills of healthcare professionals, ultimately improving the quality of patient care.

The opening ceremony was attended by a number of medical and official figures, including Dr. Mohammad Wajih Jomaa, Director of Aleppo Health Directorate; Dr. Osama Al-Zeer, Head of the Syrian Nursing Syndicate; Dr. Ammar Niazi, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Aleppo; Dr. Aref Al-Rifai, President of SAMS; and Dr. Mazen Kewara, Regional Director of the organization, in addition to representatives of healthcare institutions and media outlets.

The center provides an advanced training environment based on modern medical simulation technologies, enabling doctors and nurses to acquire and enhance clinical skills in a safe and interactive setting without exposing patients to risk.

It offers specialized training programs in basic and advanced life support, emergency and trauma care, intensive care, surgical skills and medical procedures, as well as ultrasound training.

The center is also equipped with high-fidelity simulators, integrated training rooms, and advanced audiovisual systems to support performance evaluation and learning outcomes.

The facility is expected to train hundreds of healthcare professionals annually, contributing to improved patient safety and supporting the sustainability of Syria’s healthcare sector.
