January 2026 Medical Mission Launched with a Specialized Lecture on Cardiac CT at SAMS Heart Hospital in Idlib

As part of the January 2026 Medical Mission implemented by the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) in Syria, a specialized scientific lecture was held at SAMS Hospital for Cardiac Diseases and Surgery in Idlib. The lecture was organized by the SAMS Institute for Medical Education under the title:
“The Role of Cardiac CT Scan in the Study of Cardiac Anatomy and Its Clinical Applications.”

The lecture was delivered by Dr. Mohammad Sami Wiss, a specialist in diagnostic radiology and a faculty member at the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. During the session, Dr. Wiss highlighted the importance of cardiac CT imaging in providing a precise understanding of cardiac anatomy and its significant contribution to improving the clinical diagnosis and evaluation of various heart diseases.

The lecture targeted resident physicians and cardiology specialists and comes within SAMS’ ongoing efforts to support continuing medical education, strengthen the capacities of healthcare professionals, and enhance the quality of medical services provided in Syria.

This scientific activity marks the opening of SAMS’ January 2026 Medical Mission and is part of a series of educational and training events scheduled to take place throughout the mission period.
