Opening of the SAMS Autism Academy and Graduation of the First Cohort of the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Program

As part of the SAMS medical mission for November 2025, and in collaboration between SAMS Institute and the Presidency of Damascus University, the specialized scientific program entitled “Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)” was successfully concluded today.

A total of 85 trainees participated in this intensive program, including 20 trainees from various Syrian governorates, namely: Quneitra, Daraa, Rural Damascus, Homs, Hama, Aleppo, Idlib, and Latakia.

The week-long program featured a series of advanced lectures and practical training workshops delivered by a distinguished group of physicians, professors, and experts. The program aimed to:

  • Enhance scientific knowledge related to autism
  • Develop practical skills for working with children with special needs
  • Train specialists on the latest practices in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
  • Strengthen the capacities of medical and educational professionals across different governorates

Many participants emphasized the importance of such programs in advancing practical skills and highlighted the need for the continued implementation of community-support initiatives.

This achievement marks the first milestone in the newly launched SAMS Autism Academy, which aims to provide specialized and sustainable training to support thousands of children with autism and their families in the future.
