The scientific week on autism concludes in Damascus
On World Autism Day, and as the closing event of the Scientific Autism Week at Damascus University, SAMS proudly celebrated the opening of the SAMS Autism Academy, the first center for Syria.
The idea began as a dream and has now turned into a real reality, and a group of doctors, specialists, families of autistic children, and dedicated autism volunteers are interested in contributing to improving autism services in Syria.
The opening was attended by representatives of the University of Damascus, the Ministry of Higher Education, the Damascus Health Directorate, and the Damascus Rural Health Directorate. It was also honored by the presence of Dr. Wael Daghmash, Director of the Damascus Health Directorate, Dr. Tawfiq Hasbaa, Damascus Rural Health Directorate, and Dr. Salah al-Din al-Khatib, Director of University Facilities at the Ministry of Higher Education.
The academy operates under the Shaden Kassar Academy as a board-qualified (ABA) course to specialized experts in Applied Behavior Analysis and certification recognized by Dr. Alberta.
This center aims to enhance autism services in Syria and create a more supportive and inclusive environment for children and their families.
Special thanks to @jasminenaamou for joining us on this goal.
